Thanks to the partnership between Dolomiti Rentals and the Papa Luciani Foundation, for our guests reduced entrance to the cultural sites of the Val Biois

We are delighted and honored to announce the partnership signed with the Papa Luciani Foundation of Canale d’Agordo, which will allow guests of all Dolomiti Rentals structures to access the cultural venues managed by the Foundation at a reduced price. This agreement is the result of a virtuous synergy put in place by the two realities, to propose an ever-improving tourist offer that enhances local history and culture.

The figure of Blessed Albino Luciani, Pope John Paul I, is a key figure in the culture and religious history of the Agordino area. Thanks to the reduced entrance fee, you will be able to visit the MUSAL – Albino Luciani Museum inaugurated in Canale d’Agordo in 2016, and the Birth House, which opened to the public for the first time only in 2019.

These are two key places, whose evocative visit can enrich your stay in the Heart of the Dolomites!

During the summer period, you will also have reduced access to the Casa delle Regole, dating back to 1640; the monumental complex of San Simon with its chesta dating back to 1185 frescoed by the renowned Paris Bordone, a pupil of Titian; and the Schola della Confraternita dei Battuti, fully restored in 2022.

In short, it is a complete and constantly evolving offer to discover the history and religious tradition of this land, following the steps taken by Pope John Paul I in his childhood and youth.

Albino Luciani was born in Canale d’Agordo, in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites, in 1912, and from an early age he manifested the desire to follow the religious path to become a priest. He went much further, however, first becoming a bishop and then a cardinal, reaching the pinnacle of his clerical career on 6 August 1978. His pontificate lasted only a few days, however, because Albino Luciani passed away on 28 September of that same year, aged only 65.
