Day 1 – Saturday
The first day is dedicated to travel. When you arrive in Falcade, we will welcome you to our office at Corso Roma 76 for the check-in procedure and to hand over the keys to your home.
It’s time to find out what your nest among the peaks will be and finally start your well-deserved vacation!
Take a relaxing stroll through the streets of the village among the typical “Tabià” and stop for a hot drink with a slice of homemade cake at the renowned Hotel Stella Alpina bakery, located right in the center!
Day 2 – Sunday
It’s Sunday and Falcade is filled with life!
What better day to take a nice walk on the valley floor?
You can opt for the “La Cavalera” route, which will take you from the Falcade Plain to Canale d’Agordo, birthplace of Pope John Paul I (here is the convention to visit the museum dedicated to him and the house where he was born!). The route, which runs along the Biois stream, is very easy and is groomed by the snowcat. Once back in Falcade always through the same route, you could enjoy a good aperitif and a delicious meal at the Bar Restaurant “L’Aivaz” a cozy place located in the heart of the Falcade Plain, on the shore of a small lake: you will find special and delicious dishes!
As soon as darkness falls then, a selfie with the giant illuminated bear is a must!
Day 3 – Monday
Today is the perfect day for a nice snowshoe hike in Valfreda: an easy outing for lovers of outdoor exercise and good food at the same time.
Leave your car at the parking lot of Baita Col de Mez and with snowshoes on your feet enter the fir and larch forest. The atmosphere will be magical on this walk among typical wooden huts and a breathtaking panorama. Our advice is to do a loop tour thus arriving at the Flora Alpina Refuge, from which you will then return to the start. If you want to have lunch at this refuge, you will not be disappointed! You will be able to savor the Dolomite tradition in a really cozy setting.
Aren’t you tired yet?
After eating you must try Snowtubing: you can try your hand at a breathtaking descent on two perfectly snow-covered slopes with inflatables that you can rent directly at the lodge.
Day 4 – Tuesday
Today the day will be dedicated to the Piana di Falcade!
Here stands a Nordic skiing center where champions of our national team such as Magda Genuin and Fulvio Scola took their first steps.
Cross-country skiing is a healthy and fun sport, really suitable for everyone, and here you can try narrow skis in a truly unique setting. If you are an experienced cross-country skier, on the other hand, you will find plenty to do here!
And after Nordic skiing…have you ever tried putting ice skates on your feet?
In Falcade you can try your hand at this fascinating sport, too!
In fact, near the Plain you will find an outdoor ice skating rink with night lighting system and a skate rental service.
The feeling of freedom of gliding on a completely smooth surface, surrounded by an enchanting view–once you start, you won’t want to stop!
Day 5 – Wednesday
There are many wonders to discover at San Pellegrino Pass, so here we go: today we are going on a horse-drawn sleigh ride to Fuciade!
Be enchanted by the sound of the bells accompanied by the rustle of snow under your skates, the thump of hooves on the ground, and the fairy-tale panorama of the famous Fuciade basin, embraced by the southern peaks of the Marmolada.
The excursion lasts about two hours, starting from the Malga San Pellegrino hut, passing through the Miralago hut to the Fuciade hut, where you stop for 30 minutes. Here you can’t fail to taste their strudel, among the most renowned in the area!

Day 6 – Thursday
We were joking when we said “without skis”!
Want to come to Falcade and not try downhill skiing? That’s out of the question!
Then hop on the ski bus that connects the Biois Valley from Canale d’Agordo to Falcade, and head to Molino, the ideal starting point for a day of skiing.
The San Pellegrino Ski Area has about 100 km of perfectly snow-covered slopes, among which the “Lovers’ Slope” stands out for its beauty: this is the longest slope in the Ski Area, an 11-km track that runs from the top station of the Col Margherita cable car (2,514 m) down to the village of Falcade (1,100 m).
A little tip: if you go up to Col Margherita, you can’t fail to stop at the “In Alto” restaurant. There are no words to explain the beauty of the view you will have from up there, discover it for yourself!
The restaurant can also be reached without skis on your feet by taking the cable car from Passo San Pellegrino. If you are an inexperienced skier, you don’t have to worry: in Le Buse there are easy slopes suitable for those who are just learning. You can also book a lesson with one of the instructors of the two ski schools present in Falcade (Scuola Sci&Snowboard Equipe and Scuola Sci Falcade).
P.S. if any of you don’t ski, you can sip a good aperitif and sunbathe comfortably lying on a deck chair on the terrace of Chalet Le Buse, admiring the majestic Pale di San Martino!
Day 7 – Friday
Today we discover a little piece of paradise: the Laresei Refuge at Valles Pass.
What better evening than the last to indulge in a truly special high-altitude experience?
In fact, the refuge offers snowmobile service to reach it in the evening. Here you can enjoy typical dishes prepared with zero-mile products and taste the delicious grappa made by the owners.
The hut can also be reached during the day on foot on a groomed trail, with snowshoes, ski mountaineering or simply by chairlift from Loc. Sussistenza.

Day 8 – Saturday
Unfortunately, it is time to go home!
However, you certainly can’t leave without first buying some of the most renowned typical products of the Dolomites: cured meats cured in local cellars, alpine cheeses, preserves, jams and more!
We recommend a visit to “La Caneva” on Corso Roma: here you will find dozens of homemade products from the local farm “La Piccola Baita”!
See you on the next vacation with many more experiences to try!
